Curriculum of Choice:
Early Start is a complete curriculum program for children ages 2-5 & available all throughout the year. Each month, Early Start provides new activities in math, science, reading readiness, colors, shapes, alphabet letters and sounds, pre-writing, thinking skills and discussions. To enhance these activities, Early Start provides poems, finger plays, songs, stories, games, movement and physical activities, cooking, and craft ideas. Daily activities are designed to involve your child in the learning process both mentally and physically. We encourage each child, including infants, to work towards their developmental goals. Although we use a curriculum program, we tailor it to match your child's learning style.
We believe evaluation is important. Therefore, we distribute developmental reports twice a year. However, we constantly keep caregivers updated on your child's progress. We always encourage caregivers to take every opportunity to promote learning throughout their child's day while remembering children come with unique strengths and developmental goals.

Assessments of infants & young children's development should be done on a regular and periodic basis because of the rapid behavior changes that occur in the early years (American Academy of Peds., 2001). For this reason, we use the ASQ-3 screening system (ages 1 month-5 1/2 years old) & Preschool Progress Reports (Hayes School Publishing Co., Inc.) for age 2-5 years old.
Although our infants are not subject to a daily curriculum, we do follow developmental guidelines for normal development. If ever a time you/we feel these needs are not being met, you/we may suggest additional early intervention services.
Our focus is on the WHOLE child and we will provide information to caregivers that describes age-appropriate, early-childhood practices. Every child needs positive, consistent, developmentally-appropriate experiences to maximize brain development. Because of that, we are here to provide you with that critical, nurturing care.
